PrintAccording to statistic by China Customs, China’s total export volume of ferroalloys was 925,000 tons in 2009, which dropped sharply by 69.5%. Total export value was USD1.23billion, which dropped by 79.2%. Average price was USD1,334/mt, decreased by 31.9%. A brief summarize of the features of 2009 China ferroalloy export is shown below.
Firstly, export volume was at very low level by the beginning of the year, and gradually recovered especially in the second half. Export volume of majority products hit annually highest in December.
Secondly, main users of China’s ferroalloy in 2009 were Japan, South Korea and Taiwan province. Though export to those countries all decreased respectively, they still occupied 73.9% of China’s total export of ferroalloys.
Thirdly, export by both state-owned enterprises and private enterprises decreased sharply.
Fourthly, export of ferrosilicon still occupied a leading position in China ferroalloys exporting. Though it dropped by 65.1% to 447,000 tons, it still took the share of 48.3% of the total.
