[Ferro-Alloys.com] Japan's steelmakers saw a decline in output for the first time in 8 months.

According to the data from Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan’s crude steel output dropped by 2.5% to 8.93 million tons in April compared to the same month a year earlier.

The country’s crude steel output hit a new high over the past 5.5 years, reaching 9.72 million tons in March.

In April, the average daily crude steel output dropped by 5% to 298,000 tons compared to the previous period.
