[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to Philippines’ Board of Investments (BOI), the country’s annual steel demands are expected to reach 20 million tons by 2030.

The apparent steel consumption hit a record high of 6.6 million tons in 2013, up by 9.2% from the previous year. Among them, 81% were consumed by the construction industry 9% were coming from heavy fabrication; 5% for shipbuilding and 4% for packaging.

The country’s iron and steel industry will continue its growth this year as well, according to the BOI.
