The plants in production are facing with thin profits due to the high price of electricity. Most HC ferrochrome in this area is quoted at the price between RMB6,300/T and RMB6,400/T. A market downturn is commonly expected by most of the producers. Some plants have halted the production. The plants will not resume the production until there is an upturn, the managers said.

Almost all the stainless mills in China have lowered their purchasing prices since the beginning of September, which leaves thinner profits for the producers. Currently, the producers are in a very difficult situation and the high price of electricity makes it even worse.
