In August 2014 Japan mainly imported ferrosilicon from China 21,397 mt, Russia 9,289 mt and Brazil 2,444 mt. The numbers of July 2014 were 30,818mt, 9,222mt and 6,589 mt, respectively. Thus we could see Japan greatly reduced imports from China and Brazil, especially the former whose exports decreased over 90 thousand mt in August 2014.

In the first eight months of 2014 Japan totally imported 333,767 mt of ferrosilicon and Chinese ferrosilicon was 192,810 mt, accounting for 57.8%.
