[Ferro-Alloys.com]It is reported that China only exported 40 tons of silicon manganese in November which was basically in line with the preceding month according to China Customs Statistics. In the first eleven months of this year, China totally exported 3,349.425 tons of silicon manganese, showing a nose dive from the same period of last year. Meanwhile, silicon manganese imports also decreased dramaticly to only 545.216 tons from 11,371.676 tons in the prior year.

In terms of value, the total exports value of silicon manganese in China for the first eleven months reached 3,449,272 dollar, the average price also dropped to only USD1, 029.81/mt from USD1,497.228/mt last year. As for export destination, Taiwan province of China occupied the bulk of total with 2,360 tons silicon manganese.

In short, slowing growth demand on silicon manganese in China coupled with the frequent fluctuations in exchange rate as well as high export duty contributed silicon manganese exports and imports to maintaining poor performance.
