On Jan.15th, LME Ni closed at USD14475/mt, decreasing by USD1075/mt compared with that of last week while the stock increased by 2490tons to418332tons. On Jan.16th, Jinchuan nickel was quoted at RMB107000-107400/mt, down by RMB3500/mt. It was expected that the international price might further go down in short term.

In recent week, the low FeNi price increased by RMB50/mt to RMB2620-2680/mt and the tight supply situation last. Medium and high FeNi price decreased by RMB40/Ni as medium FeNi with Ni 4-6% was quoted at RMB1030-1040/Ni and 6-8% was RMB1020-1030/Ni and High FeNi with Ni10-15% was RMB1040-1050/Ni. In view of the medium FeNi, the operating rate was well while the spot material was not much. Under this condition, some producers were reluctant to sell the stock. Poor conditions of LME nickel and the weaker demand at the end of the year made the Pessimistic mood in nickel market get stronger. However, as the FeNi drop rate was too large that many producers chose to hold the stock and watch.
