[Ferro-Alloys.com] In recent period, Chinese imported manganese ore market kept tumbling amid sluggish demand. Australian Mn46 lumps were focused on RMB33-33.5/mtu at northern ports and RMB32-33/mtu at southern ports. As for Mn48 sand ore, it was quoted at RMB33.-33.5/mtu in north and RMB31.5-32.5/mt in south. South African Mn38 lumps were priced at RMB28.5-29.5/mtu while RMB32-33/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%. Meanwhile, Gabonese Mn 45-46 lumps are now lingered about RMB31-32/mtu at northern ports and RMB30.5-31.5/mtu at southern ports. Brazilian Mn 44-45% lumps are fixing at RMB 29.5-30.5/mtu in north while RMB29-30/mtu in south.

As Spring Festival around the corner, growing number of ore traders in China tend to suspend ore future shipment. Since sluggish demand ongoing, imported manganese ore spot failed to get out of downtrend. According to one of big silicon manganese producers in north, there was about RMB1/mtu declining in the price of Australian ore in recent period, but firm quotation for Gabonese ore. As for South African ore, given polularity among alloys factories, the price still hold stable.

In general, it is estimated that imported manganese ore spot would be likely to maintain flat in the near future because of slim demand and increasing capitial pressure for traders before Spring Festival.  .
