High carbon ferromanganese 65 focused on RMB4,800-5,000/mt, and RMB5,600-5,700/mt for 75#. Medium carbon ferromanganese 78C1.5 lingered about RMB8,400-8,500/mt and RMB8,800-9,000/mt for low carbon ferromanganese 80C0.7. Despite falling purchase price of HBIS, it seems that most alloy participants in China still failed to readjust quotation. In fact, negative attitudes of participants aggravated the cut throat competition on manganese alloy spot market, causing a continuous downturn for manganese alloys.

As for steel purchase, it is said that Hebei and Steel Group finally knocked down May purchase on manganese alloys, High carbon ferromanganese 65 was lowered to RMB4,750/mt, silicon manganese 6517 was decreased to RMB5,550/mt, medium carbon ferromanganese 78C1.5 was readjusted to RMB7,800/mt and RMB7,600/mt for 78C2.0, low carbon ferromanganese 80C0.7 was declined to RMB8,350/mt.

In fact, apart from sale and capital pressure, environmental protection also troubled local alloys factories. Take Henan for example, there are only those who are in line with environmental protection standard can allow running.

All in all, policy, and supply and demand relationship, manganese ore tendency would serve as main factors to influence in alloy market.
