[Ferro-Alloys.com]Early June, China's major stainless steel makers, including Tsingshan Group, JISCO, Baosteel and TISCO, released their tender prices of high-carbon ferrochrome for June. The new tender prices ended rollovers over the previous month, except for TISCO, the rest are the same now, which are also the lowest prices for the fourth time in history following the prices in October & November, 2014 and May, 2015.

 

Whether the prices will bottom this level or continue to seek new bottom would depend on the high-carbon ferrochrome supply changes in the third quarter. On the one hand, China's domestic output of high-carbon ferrochrome will keep a high level during the rainy season in south China, which would make a sufficient domestic supply. On the other hand, if the imported ferrochrome remained above 0.2 million tonnes monthly, the risk of prices falling would be increased and the new bottom might be formed. Adding that the fall of chrome ore prices would effect the ferrochrome prices negatively.
