Usually, the summer time is a period when the production of aluminium products is down, and the consumption of silicon metal also falls along with the decreased production of secondary aluminium alloy products, and accordingly both figures in August 2015 were drastically down from the prior month.

This was because both production and consumption stayed at the same low levels as those in August 2009 after Lehman Shock when both were compared with the past results on a single month basis.
