In recent days, it’s relatively harder to make a low-grade deal at the price below 1750yuan per tone, but with the supply of restarted capacity increase, the low grade ferronickel price expected to turn down during a short term. When it comes to the downstream market, most stainless steel makers did not purchase too much nickel alloys, except for Anshan steel’s subsidiary Lianzhong stainless Corporation and the Southwestern Stainless Corporation.

According to China’s Bureau of Statistics, China totally imported 67,720 tones of ferronickel in September, up 26.85 percent monthly and up 141 percent yearly and totally imported 500,000 tones of ferronickel from January to September. Yet its export of ferronickel was zero tone in September and 12,000 tones from January to September respectively. Recently, the purchase prices rebounded, stimulated by London Metal Exchange nickel price increase, which can be seem from the Tsingshan steel’s purchase price that up-adjusted by 20-30yuan per nickel this month.
