A six-member delegation of an American Company, HARSCO Ltd called on the secretary, Board of Investment (BoI), Anjum Bashir to discuss various sectors in Pakistan for investment.

HARSCO Corporation is an old and worldwide industrial company with investment in 54 countries with the total revenue of $3 billion.

The company has largest investment in the minerals division, the steel industry being its principal market.

They told the secretary they have a business of $100 million in India and China. The company initially plans to invest $10 million in the chrome ore project.

They showed interest in launching a project of chrome ore in Pakistan due to its strategic location for neighboring countries. For this purpose HARSCO is in a process of acquiring a large piece of land near Taxila for putting up a plant.

The delegation appreciated the investment regime of Pakistan and requested BoI’s assistance for its incorporation in Pakistan. The secretary welcomed their investment and assured full support and facilitation for their proposed project in Pakistan. This would make a good start for the company for its future expansion.
