                                                   Tasmania iron ore mines permitted by Frydenberg

The Rogetta iron-ore mine in Tasmania has been permitted by the Federal Environment and Energy Minister, Josh Frydenberg for the purpose of development and progress. The project will encompass an open cut procedure over given seven year mine life generating at a rate of 1 million tonnes per year.  On Wednesday, the Minister stated that the plan was an illustration of development which is environmentally sustainable as well as economically beneficial and at the local, regional and state levels of Tasmania, it will bring substantial economic and noteworthy social benefits that would include around 200 temporary jobs due to construction and around 100 permanent jobs for the operations. For maintenance and development of mine approximately A$100 million is used and will generate in export revenues of between A$90 million and A$100 million a year from sale of its products.
