[ferro-alloys.com]Canada’s Sienna Resources (TSXV: SIE) announced that it is planning to start a multi-hole drill program in August 2019 on its flagship Slättberg nickel-copper-cobalt project in Sweden.

According to the miner, data gathered from a drill program carried out in 2018, together with downhole electromagnetic surveys and modern sampling and geophysical work, have provided multiple new high priority drill targets.

“The initial results of the 2018 drill program were encouraging but further target definition was required,” Sienna’s president, Jason Gigliotti, said in a media statement. “Follow up EM surveys and new sampling has provided new multiple high priority drill targets, which we plan to test this summer. We look forward to a very active 2019 as we still have cash reserves to cover the planned drill program.”

The Slättberg property is located 25 kilometers northwest of the city of Falun in central Sweden.

The project contains drill defined sulfide mineralization that extends to ~100 meters in depth, and remains open for expansion at depth and along strike. Sienna reports that at least 16 historic mines are located on the property, with historic operations dating back to the late 1800s.
