[ferro-alloys.com]Recently, after the meeting between Kinshasa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the country's largest miners, Congo grant mining companies an indefinite exemption from the export ban on cobalt hydroxide, carbonate and tin, tungsten and tantalum concentrate.

The Ministry of Mines also announced the exemption of the copper concentrate, but the duration of the exemption still be determined, and the enterprise will submit the proposal in a week.

In 2013, Congo, the World’s largest producer of cobalt and the African largest producer of copper banned the export of copper and cobalt concentrate in order to encourage the miners process and refined the ores in Congo. But the lack of smelter capacity forced the country to issue repeated exemptions, the latest due on Saturday.  

The central bank of Congo said, only in the first half the year, Congo produced 765,000 tons of copper concentrate, an increase of 13.4% year-on-year. The production of cobalt was 38,816 tons, an increase of 6% year-on-year. But the production of Tin, wolframite and tantalum ore was slumped.
