The German Business Daily reported recently, the German Steel Association said, German crude steel production in 2020 was 35.7 million tons, down 10% from the weaker 2019, the lowest level since 2009.

Kochhoff, chairman of the association, said the industrial restructuring remained worrying despite a modest recovery in the fourth quarter. In addition to the negative impact of the New Crown crisis, the global steel market turmoil, climate policy tightening caused further pressure on Germany's steel production base.
