According to the German Iron and Steel Union (WV Stahl) data, German crude steel production rose 10.7% to 3.14 million tons in December 2020.
In 2020, German crude steel production fell for the third consecutive year to 35.66 million tons, down 10% from a year earlier, the lowest level since 2009. In the fourth quarter of 2020, German crude steel production increased 9% from a year earlier.
In December 2020, the production of pig iron in Germany was 2.23 million tons, an increase of 9.8% from a year earlier and the country’s pig iron production in 2020 was 22.46 million tons, down 12% from the same period last year.
