【Ferro-alloys.com】Sarda Energy & Minerals continues to raise Mn alloy production

Sarda Energy & Minerals significantly improved its financial results amid steadily growing global Mn alloy prices.The company’s revenue rose by 21.4% quarter-on-quarter to INR 10.56 billion ($140.5 million) in Q2 of FY 2022 (July-September). The producer’s ferroalloy division accounted for 36.8% or INR 3.89 billion (+14.4%) of the earnings. The net profit of Sarda Energy & Minerals increased by 34.6% to INR 2.6 billion, while the profit of the ferroalloy segment added 27.7%.The company produced 38,000 t of Mn alloys in July-September (+5.5% q-o-q).Sarda Energy & Minerals plans to increase the capacity of its ferroalloy plant in Andhra Pradesh state by installing a 36 MVA furnace by the end of FY 2022-2023. The new unit will make a 50,000 tpy production boost possible. At the same time, mixed ferroalloy capacities will be raised from 111 MVA to 147 MVA.Indian Mn alloy prices added around 7.4% q-o-q and 61.8% year-on-year in July-September as supply shortage deteriorated.Sarda Metals & Alloys Ltd has two Mn alloy plants in Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (120,000 tpy and 75,000 tpy respectively).
