Tata to build a electric car battery factory in the UK
The chair of Tata Group is due to meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak next week for talks that are expected to lead to the announcement that the Indian group will build a flagship electric car battery factory in the UK.
Both the Spanish and British governments have been involved in a bidding war offering subsidies to the firm in recent weeks, according to reports.
The factory is likely to be built in Somerset and could create up to 9,000 jobs, it is reported.
