Integrated steelmaker Cleveland-Cliffs has increased its minimum hot-rolled coil (HRC) price to $1,000/short ton (st).

The price rise is $100/st higher than its previous minimum set on 31 October. The company also said it would increase cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) coil pricing, without setting a price minimum for those products.

On 26 October, integrated competitor US Steel increased its HRC price minimums to $900/st.

The Argus US HRC Midwest and southern ex-works assessments have increased to $850/st on 31 October, a 27pc increased since a low of $670/st in September. argusmedia.com
