VPA Chairman Dr M. Angamuthu stated on December 31, 2024, "It's a significant turnaround performance for the port with improvement in key performance indicators (KPI)."

"The New Year (2025) will be challenging, and they intend to bring alternate cargoes like manganese, bauxite, and fertilizers."

Dr Angamuthu emphasised that VPA will significantly enhance its operational efficiency with advancements in mechanical and engineering capabilities. The authority is actively adopting transformative changes based on insights and recommendations from renowned consulting firms. The primary focus is ensuring faster and more cost-effective cargo evacuation by aligning its techno-economic parameters with global standards, fostering a more competitive and seamless experience for stakeholders.
