[Ferro-Alloys.com]  At the ongoing fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in China Changsha, Zimbabwe is showcasing its immense mineral wealth, inviting Chinese investors to tap into its vast resources.

With over 60 commercially exploitable minerals, including gold, platinum, diamonds, and lithium, Zimbabwe aims to transform its mining industry into a $40 billion hub.

President of Zimbabwe Miner’s Federation Henrietta Rushwaya highlighted the country’s potential stating, “Zimbabwe stands as one of the most mineral-rich countries in Africa, with over 60 commercially exploitable mineral resources.”

The government is keen on partnering with Chinese firms to unlock the country’s mineral potential and drive industrial growth.

Zimbabwe’s lithium sector is already gaining traction, with Chinese-owned ventures like Arcadia Lithium Mine and Bikita Minerals leading the charge.

The country accounts for approximately 30 percent of Africa’s lithium production, positioning itself as a key player in the global electric vehicle and battery manufacturing supply chain.

Rushwaya emphasised the potential for partnerships in the electric vehicle sector, noting that “Zimbabwe can become a launchpad for clean mobility solutions for the continent.”

Beyond lithium, Zimbabwe is inviting Chinese energy companies to explore public-private partnerships in solar, hydro, and coal-to-power projects. This move aims to stabilize the mining sector’s erratic electricity supply and support industrial growth.

With its rich mineral resources and investor-friendly policies, Zimbabwe is an attractive destination for Chinese investors looking to expand their presence in Africa. The One-Stop Investment Services Centre under the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) streamlines investment processes, making it easier for investors to navigate the market.

As Zimbabwe seeks to deepen its economic ties with China, the country’s mineral wealth and growth potential make it an exciting opportunity for investors.
