For the first half of the year, total imported coal has reached 139 million mt, increased 65.9% (y.o.y). With imported coal increasing, domestic coal suppliers have strength the competition with foreign suppliers. As a result, the fierce competition depressed the domestic coal market and made it oversupply. Meanwhile, southeast of China’s economy has slowed down, accompanying with a reduction in electricity and coal usage. Therefore, the supply and demand of coal was imbalance which caused an overload of coal for all main ports of China.
