The Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plant of Sukinda Chromite Mine of Tata Steel has won Second Prize in the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award-2014 in Mining Sector given by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The award was presented by Shri. Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India during the National Energy Conservation Day Function held on 14th December 2014 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This award is given to nationally recognised selected industrial units who have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy.
Earlier, in September this year, Sukinda Chromite Mine of Tata Steel, had also bagged the 13th Annual Greentech Safety Award -2014 in gold category.
