So far, domestic ferrous nickel factories preferred 1.5 nickel ore, coupled with 1.8 nickel ore, in order to cut costs in the short term. As a result of it, the raw materials to produce high-grade ferrous nickel consist of 50% of mid-grade nickel ore and 50% of high-grade nickel ore.

In the outer disc market, nickel ore futures 0.9-1.1% was mainly quoted at $16-18 per wet tone; mid-grade nickel ore futures 1.5% was mainly quoted at $30-32 per wet tone; high-grade nickel ore futures 1.8% was mainly quoted at $50-51 per wet tone. Supported by the coming rainy season in Philippine, the nickel ore futures was obviously prompted and rebounded, coupled with ferrous nickel factories to reserve for the mid- and long-term period, a trader said.
